Desmid Polarized Light 400X

Staurastrum sp is a unicellular green alga belonging to the order Desmidiales. These jewels look like "alien space ships" under polarized light microscopy 400X. My first post - I hope to post more photomicrographs in the future.

Been reading and looking at the other beautiful photomicrographs for some time - I think its time I get more involved. Let's see how this works.

Nice subject, thanks for sharing! Possible improvement would be to reduce white clipping/ light intensity/exposure.
