Mike makes a good point: a good taking lens is not necessarily a good tube lens. Each model has to be tested. That's why this forum is so great; there is more collective info here on tube lenses than any individual could possibly discover for himself.

Robert O'Toole ( https://www.closeuphotography.com/tube-lenses ) does find the Sigma Life Size Adapter to be better than the Raynox 150.

I have been meaning to add samples to the LSA page, Thanks for mentioning my page Lou.

I have already shot a comparison with the Raynox vs LSA on a Mitutoyo 5X M Plan APO but due to my workload for the next couple of months, I just returned from Japan today BTW, I will not be able to get to that for sometime. I will post the info as soon as I can. Friday I leave to lead a 2 week trip photo to Alaska!

Thanks Robert. I wish my tests were as nicely systematic as yours!

Raynox 5320

Post by Andy Davies »

I have the Raynox 5320 and I would be interested in knowing whether it is worthwhile adding more of the diopters to get different tune lens focal lengths with a Mitty 10x.
