Hello,

Diploschistes scruposus is a crustose lichen that is common on schist and silicate rocks.

- on location (Eifel, Germany); shot with my mobile



- Closeup Thallus, 105 mm makroobjective with 36 mm extension ring, 38 picture stack with Helicon.



- section apothecium, LCB (lactophenol-cottonblue) stain





- closeup spores

Thank you, Mike. Yes, in pictures 3 - 6 the sections were stained with LCB (lactophenol-cottonblue). It is a mixture of Phenol, lactic acid and a very small amount of cotton blue and a much smaller amount of acid fuchsin (formula by Dr. F. Schumm).
