Pol Crystals

Post by Mike »

Hello All,

Couple more shots of some of my favorite materials for pol crystals shots - potassium ferrocyanide and sulfur melts.

Both made with Orthoplan/Nikon D200/Nikon UFX-DX shutter, Leitz 10X NPL 160/.017.

First is a Sulfur melt - always different and dependent on pressure, heating/cooling rate, but usually very colorful with much detail. For some reason this reminds me of Florida on the map!

Six shots stacked with HF.

Next is yet another KFe2CN shot - this of a small detail yet showing some of the colors I have come to look for in these - material is simply dissolved in water and allowed to recrystallize.

Fifteen shots stacked with HF.
