Dimensions for Zeiss Standard RA

Post by engelmanna »

Hi,

I’m a 3D artist looking to model a Zeiss Standard RA microscope. I’ve found plenty of imagery online for reference, however after a day of scouring the internet, I can’t seem to find any reliable dimensions online. I was hoping someone here on the forums with access to a Zeiss Standard RA could help me get the following dimensions:

(image below illustrating listed dimensions)
H1 - Height from bottom of base to top of stand
H2 - Height from top of base to top of block
H3 - Height from bottom of base to top of base
D1 - outer diameter of top of stand
D2 - outer diameter of nosepiece
D3 - diameter of dial
D4 - diameter of illuminator?
W1 - width of base

Any other dimensions you think would help would be greatly appreciated as well, however I think i can extrapolate everything I need from this set of dimensions.

Thanks!

Nice project!
If you don't need top precision measurements I'll do in few days. Mines are not exactly the RA, but I have Standard 16 and 18 and dimensions are really the same.
There are some other important dimensions I'd also could measure

The dimensions of H2 is variable as it is the focus height of the stage. Currently it shows it in the upper most position.

I have an RA and can get you some measurements this weekend.

Thanks for the responses!

@Pau - The 3d model is just for visual sake. The measurements do not have to be supper accurate.

@Eddie - Thanks for catching the variable H2 issue. If you do get measurements, could you measure it at both it's highest and lowest point?

The dimensions of the Zeiss RA body:
H1 - 270mm
H2 - 98 - 123mm
H3 - 40mm
D1 - 62mm
D2 - 68mm
D3 - 55mm
D4 - 55mm
W1 - 168mm at the bottom of the base but is 140mm at the top of the base

These are some measurements which you didn't ask for but may want:
L1 - 225mm This is the total length of the base, front to back, measured from the bottom but only 210mm on the top of the base.
L2 - 82mm Length of the arm on top of the base without the condenser/stage carrier.
W2 - 46mm Width of the arm at the front sitting on top of the base

Thank you Eddie for the measurements! These should give me enough to work from to get an accurate 3d model.
