Slowly and steadily I am making progress in using my wemacro rail.

The background is a black cloth to keep as a base for masking. The final is a simple solid color fill in photoshop. The cloth helped in the transition of the opaque shell details.
@Chris: Thanks. The common comment I have got is the beetle looks straight out the alien from independence day.

Yes I am based in India.
Being in the tropics, there is a lot of variety.
However insect trading/capturing in wild is banned by the wildlife department. Further the insect collectors are majorly linked to colleges and universities. So to get to them,to access the specimens is kind of difficult. I have to rely on finding naturally dead insects in my garden.

This time 41 photos.
I am still struggling with lighting the specimen properly with the Jansos. Also I dont know how the areas near the eyes is missed. I remember doing the stack till the end point which is the end point of the shell.
