Hi there good people,
I can understand Mike (Olympusman) fascination for micro circuits.
Just tested one my self.
This has been photographed through the window of the chip...

Hi there Mike,
Thank you for your great comment.
The image is taken with Canon EOS 7D and Mitutoyo M Plan APO 5x on Canon EF 70-200. Lightsource is 3x 65w fluorescence bulbs with softing. The circuit is placed inside a light tent. Stack of 44 images stiched together in Zerene PMax.
Minor adjustents in LR.
Kind Regards
Harald

AMTEL chip

Nice. As I recall, these ICs could be programmed through the window in the package with UV light signals.

Mike,

I think these were erased with UV through the window. Programming was done through the usual electrical interface.

Best,

Mike

I have some 2708s somewhere. ONE WHOLE KILOBYTE
And not Cmos.

We used to erase them by putting them in the envoironmental test chamber for 2 minutes.
Many years ago, I broke the "window" square off one with a hammer and chisel, to take a photo of the chip. I had to sharpen the chisel first, I remember.
