Its been a long time since I have posted in this forum, a lot of nice work in here. Cool Looking over some lichens with the dissecting microscope, I came across these. Thought they may be pin lichens but as I am with a great many things, I am unsure. Could they possibly be cilia, sporangia or maybe stroma, as one seems to have burst at the tip. They were rising up from a foliose lichen thallus.

Thank you Carlos Smile Lichens are composite organisms consisting of a fungi and an algae or sometimes a fungi and a cyanobacteria (blue-green algae). Also on some occasions, the lichen thallus or lichen body may contain all three organisms, the fungi, the algae, and the cyanobacteria.
