Plant transverse section...the structure seems very simple with no clear vascular bundles...bryophyte?...the outer part shows lignified thick cell walls...

Could it be the filament supporting the capsule of a moss sporophyte? (just a guess)

Yes, it is a transversal cross-section of moss seta (very thin stalk supporting moss capsule)
