Bombus rescued from pond

Post by Diogenes »

.Image

Hi from a new UK member............by way of introduction, here's a sample of my photography. We rescued this guy from the pond, dried it out a bit on tissue, and fed it a spot of honey. It made off after an hour in the sun and some vigorous preening.

I think it's a male orange tail, bombus lapidarius...........the soaking has made it's fur lie flat. There's a hint of colour at it's rear and behind it's head.
