Cuprorivaite

Post by microcollector »

The blue crystal at the center of the frame is cuprorivaite from Summit Rock, Klamath County, Oregon. It is extremely rare there and I have found reference to it only in the Eifel area of Germany and on Vesuvius in Italy. The brown crystal is enstatite, the green crystals are diopside, and the black crystal is ilmenite. The colorless groundmass is mostly tridymite.
