A striking image. Any idea what the darker tube-like structure is that appears to be running back between the front legs from the mouth area?

The tubelike structure is the proboscis used for sucking up fluids from plants or other animals depending on the way of life of the particular species.
When not in use for eating it is normally folded back and hidden/protected between the legs. A characteristic feature for many members of the group hemiptera.
