Del-Tron LRS3-1 horizontal field/studio setup

Post by Saul »

As I mentioned in the one of the previous posts, I was looking for something to replace my horizontal setup which could be used in the field and studio and could be used in the manual and auto modes.
http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... ht=deltron

Finally my purchase has arrived... Assembly took few minutes, except 1/4 hole for the tripod at the bottom - had to spend some time to assemble back linear bearings.

Movement is ~2.0 - 2.5mm per turn, what is OK for my horizontal lower magnification shots. For the high magnification I'm using vertical setup

Thanks Mike !
All credits are for Arda Kutlu , from my side just some 3D modeling and assembly :)
Oh yes, the Knob :) It was for the different purpose (encoder), but my PLC was to weak for that...

Saul,

I like your design and its flexible features very much. If I could have a macro rig, I would like one exactly like yours (I too want field/studio + manual/auto).

How much does your rig cost, approximately, without considering the tripod cost?

Saul,

Very nice work!! See you've got that 3D printer working nicely, and William's WeMacro controller and battery pack. The 18650 LiIon cells should last a long time. Great setup!!

Best,

Mike

Dear Saul;

How did you control a different stepper motor with wemcaro controller?
Wemacro rail has a lead screw which has 1mm pitch and 1mm lead, this means the block will move 1mm for every 1 full rev.
You said that your new linear rail moves ~2.0 - 2.5mm per rev.
Because of that the calculations on the wemacro controller program will Show wrong lengths is it correct?
You can only use step numbers but calculate the legths yourself.
Could you explain a bit?
I have a Project to use the wemacro controller on a different rail system so I need your advices on this mater.
Thanks.
Regards.

Fan, everything depends how much luck you have on eBay :)
Without tripod, around US400-450$

Thanks Mike ! Printer is not my, I'm bugging my colleague :)
Never tried yet 18650 for how much time it will last

Thanks Lonepal ! You are right - I made few tests for my both studio & field setups & created kind a "cheat-sheet" for my setups

Image

WeMacro 10um app step on my vertical setup with Labophot base and 400 pulse stepper equals 0.5um
Example - for my vertical setup with Labophot base with Mitu 10x I have to set 50um step on the app. For 50x - step will be 10-15 on the app.
On the horizontal with Deltron/Nikkor 55mm/32mm extension tube- 250-300 steps (depending on the situation)

Dear Saul;

Thanks for the information.
I wonder what type of motors wemacro controller can drive.
For example can it drive below motor?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/371925150429

Is there an amperage limit like max 2A?

What type of 400 stepper you use on your vertical setup? A nema 17 400 2.4A?

Sorry for asking too much but I need your experience on this matter.
Thanks.
Regards.

No idea. It is better to contact William from WeMacro directly.

Sorry, again no idea - it was ebay purchase long time ago, no label on the motor. Now I would buy:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P0 ... UTF8&psc=1
because of the double shaft

BTW, couple Del-Tron stage listings on ebay, very good price, with "make offer" option, same seller where I bought my unit

172640921840

UPDATE: good price is gone, seller increased price from 37 to 82

Dear Saul;
Thanks for the information.
If I can use same controller for both 200 step and 400 step motors as tou do, no problem.
Regards.
