Another nice set. They seem to be getting more "christmassy" with each post lately (bah humbug). Is that how they are or are you juicing the saturation more?

Chips

Post by Olympusman »

Some of the chips are pretty colorlerss, but others are quite colorful. When dealing with epi-illumination, I have found that some objectives may be flatter than others because of contrast and flare, so I may pump up the contrast a tad, but basically these are the original colors. Remember, on a metalurgical scope, the light goes down through the objective to illuminate the subject and then back up through the beam splitter to the trinocular head, so any flare is magnified. Also, everytime I set up a die, I try a cross-polarization. Some times cross-polarization makes a differece and other times not.
