Lizard suffers SIDS Part II

Post by Pizzazz »

Hi Gang

Here is a 5x image of the underside of the left-rear leg.
Part of the tail is in the shot.

The pads on the digits are very intriguing. No wonder these guys can
climb on anything.

In your first thread about this lizard, the image seems pretty clear that the pads are covered by hairs.

It would be great to see those hairs imaged from the side at high magnification.

The tips of the hairs, at highest magnification you can manage, would be particularly interesting. A 50X objective would be about right...

I think you will have to pry it out of his cold dead hands before he will depart with it. At least at that point you can macro his finger tips. Lol.

Sure! It's all yours. Just as soon as I'm in the same state as that lizard :P

Beatsy, Abpho

I would go get one, but I want to make sure I can get good results with
my 20x first.

I appreciate the humor.

Processing a stack now. Hope the pads come out.

Good plan. I said before that had I got the 20x first, I probably wouldn't have bothered with the 50x. But I'm saying that from a position of having the 50x already, which is a bit different. In reality, curiosity would probably have got the better of me in the end. I do regularly find uses for the 50x but I'm not sure how much of that is using it "because it's there" rather than being a strict necessity - if you know what I mean. It's a lot of money though, best to mull over it for a while first.

Forgot to say - nice pic of the foot too.

Cheers

Well thanks to you and your post of the spider spinnerets, I am wanting
to get a 50x. Your post, as usual, is stunning.

I am NOT saying that having the gear makes you better, but learning
from you and others makes me want to fill my tool box!

My stack that I just finished, stunk. I have continuous lights that caused
some bad specular areas, so back to the diffuser, and trying to get the detail
at 20x !!!

Ugh!

Good luck Pizzazz. We await your results. No pressure really. It's only been 6 hours since your last post.
