Hand held, on board flash, Nikon 3300 Sigma 105mm Macro with 12mm extension tube. Sorry that feeding images are not very sharp but difficult to catch with proboscis extended so included for interest.

Probably one of the most used model organisms around, well maybe aside from mice etc. Still the fruit fly is an interesting subject, this one here appears to not have the "paint brush gene" being expressed. The paint brush gene is what gives the fly wing spots. :)
