Are PMs actually being sent?

Post by elf »

I've sent several PMs, but they seem to be stuck in the Outbox.

I've noticed they appear to get stuck in the Outbox if you view or edit them there. They're undeletable!
I'll send you two, the first of which I'll edit in the Outbox, and we'll see...

Messages will stay in the Outbox until the recipient views them.

After that (and only after that) is when they move to the Sentbox.

Sure, but have you tried editing any?

Yes. I've never observed any problems.

But I'm happy to run another test. I need you to hold tight and do NOT read your PMs until I tell you to. I will wait until you acknowledge this posting.

OK, you can check your PM's now.

If all is well, you should see two of them from me, with Subject lines that say "PM #2, edited" and "PM #1, no editing".

There should be no third PM, whose subject line said (at one point) "PM #3, to be deleted". But then I deleted it, by marking it and then doing a Delete Marked.

Both #1 and #2 received - so what's left in your Outbox!?
