Removing attached objective

Dear Members

A very beginner question, but I have an Olympus microscope, I can post the model number later. But is it safe and possible to remove the objective from a microscope itself? What are the risk?

P.s.- I have searched a lot but cannot find the how-to on micrography with an Objective screwed to an adapter. Would appreciate some help :)

Yes, the objectives are just screwed to the turret, so no problem, they are removable by design. If it's too tightened you will need some brute force and then you must be careful to not damage it.

But old Olympus objectives are not suitable for use without their dedicated microscope eyepieces because they need some complementary corrections of optical aberrations done at the compensating eyepieces.
Some pictures of the microscope and objectives could help.
