I'm guessing a damp coverslip, sitting on the ends of some cut tubes. But I have no idea what the tubes are. The absence of texture suggests synthetic.

So must be trichomes, likely glandular trichomes with their sticky tips in contact with the coverslip.

Very nice!

So the trichomes are intact, and the appearance of "cut tubes" is provided by adhesion between the rounded ends of the trichomes and the cover slip?
