Hi, can someone recommend a flexible bracket on camera base to attach flash?
I would imagine about 16 inches / 40 cm long for photographing bugs?

Pretty convincing, though it's certainly not 16" long (I don't own it).
I just got this cheap ebay bracket:

I haven't actually used it in the real world yet. It might be kind of wobbly for the full sized flashes pictured. Also that double U config you see in the pics is kind of necessary. The arms would rotate under the weight of the flash if they were just going straight out. But it seems promising - for the money.
