Looking to get started. This what I have so far: Nikon D300 and D7000 and a Sigma 150 macro lens.
What else do I need? I know I won't get pictures of bugs with mites on them, but I'd like to get some shots that I'd love to get critiqued.
How to get started

Hi there!
I also have the D300 & Sigma 150mm
The results are pretty nice in my opinion
I would recommend you get a good tripod and a release cable.
This is the basic equipment which I think is mandatory.

runakid, welcome aboard.
You can get started with just what you have, no need to buy more. In full sun or bright overcast there is enough light to shoot good macro handheld.
Shoot something you find interesting, post it for review, tell us what you like and don't like about it, and then we can give you better direction.
Different from Sk8man, I suspect your next purchase maybe should be electronic flash, rather than tripod and cable release. But that depends entirely on what and how you like to shoot. Active subjects handheld suggest flash, passive subjects with lots of time to frame and focus suggest tripod and cable release.

Getting started
I already have the tripod and cable release and also have a flash. I just hope to get some good bug pictures. I signed up for a class on line in macro flower photography too.

Wonderful, we would love to see some results.
As rik said, it all comes to your shooting preference.
Some like to use flash and others use natural light.
