Graham, here you´ve portrayed a species of the genus Myrmica. (On the understanding that you have collected this specimen around your place.) The portrait shows a lot of interesting detail.
Must be a rare Zeiss objective you are using. I´ve never come across a zoom objective for the common compound microscope. It´d be interesting to have some more information on this one. What N. A. does it have?
