Mounted Otamat Lenses Being Offered
My images are a medium for sharing some of my experiences: they are not me.
This listing is a bit odd. Last year we had a situation with a £18 Otamat 20mm 6 element f/2.8 lens sold by a seller with odd sales practices - story and this lens here.
Same seller this year is now selling this, a 20mm 7 element f/1.7 Otamat "super macro" lens for £60 or so. But it sure looks like the 20mm f/2.8 of last year and it even links to a thread on pm.net about the 20mm f/2.8 of last year. So is it a different lens or not? odd.
Beyond that though these Microfilm reader lenses do quite well. The 10mm lens he also offered wasn't such a hit but the 20mm f/3.5 worked fine, provided you could find a decent mount to put them in. Looks to me the seller has put them in plastic mounts.

I recieved this (the only) topic reply notification link:

Clicking on it gave a forum message that the reply does not exist.

To resurrect a month-dead thread...
I've been seeing these over and over again as I have a saved search running for "OTAMAT 20" for curiosity's sake (my JML 21 search has returned nothing but jewelry and Magic Bullet blenders).
Has anyone tried this specific lens, the 7 element one? The seller's tiny test shots aren't convincing me of its quality, nor is the link to a discussion on this forum over what may or may not be the same lens...
It all seems a little risky.
