nikon 3t and 4t close up lenses as tube lenses ?

Post by andre reichmann »

if raynox lenses can be used as tube lenses acrhomats for infinite lenses and bellows, how about nikon 3t and 4t diopters ? they are 1,5 and 3.0 diopters respectively if i recall corectly... they have 52mm threads...

i ask this because i have them all :-) ....

3.0 diopters is 333 mm focal length. This would give 1.66 times rated magnification if used on enough extension to give infinity focus. If used on shorter extension (say, 200 mm), it would not be a perfect match, but image quality would probably be pretty good for the 4X and 10X objectives. (Higher power with larger NA are more picky.)

I would definitely give them a try.
