This is nice! How did you get such a solid black background for it?

Background

Post by Saul »

Hi Rik,

I'm using 1898 beetle black-crushed velvet cardstock, Doodlebug Design Inc, sold by Hobby Lobby, for the background. It is very good material for the objective hoods, rings to reduce flares inside objectives.

BR,

Saul

Excellent -- thank you for the detailed description. I couldn't find that item at Hobby Lobby online, but a wider search turned up http://store.scrapbook.com/db-1898.html. 12"x12" pieces for $2. I ordered some to check it out. Normally I use ProtoStar but in small areas that stuff can be tricky to handle because the adhesive is so aggressive.

Hobby Lobby keeps this item at the fancy paper section :). Your are right, they do not show it online :(. It took for me awhile to find this kind of paper - I remembered it from childhood times in Europe. Should be in the US ... :)
