|
|
I have a Canon T3i (600) and would like to use two Canon 270 EX II mounted on a bracket for use in macro photography. I'm looking to build a less expensive version of the Canon MT-24 EX.
What is the least expensive way for me to trigger both flashes from the camera and (hopefully) have ETTL?
Thanks! |

If the popup (onboard) flash of your T3i is able to act as Commander for the two 270s then you might be able to use an ST-E2 or its Chinese knockoff. However a brief look through the literature for the ST-E2 was not encouraging (it only mentioned controlling 4xx and 5xx flashes.)
I briefly tried using an ETTL “Y” cable with two 430s and that failed miserably (both flashes fired at full power only.) |

| FlashZebra.com sells twin hot shoe cords. I'm not sure how they work but I have read people use them exactly for what you are intending, to fire two flashes at once. Not sure if ETTL will still work. |
