I actually took this picture on one of the cool mornings we had last week...was overcast and cool, which made it a little slower.

I've noticed that bugs are less skittish on cloudy or overcast days. I think that could be attributed to the ocelli not being able to key in on contrast as good as what they could on sunny days, however, I am not sure of that but to me it seems to be a reasonable assumption and of course the early morning, as you said, they are a little more cooperative. :D

Lacewings are really graceful insects. At least they seem that way to me. Nice images.
