Hello from Belgium

Post by Rayke »

Hello everybody,

Became a member of this forum a while ago and it's time to introduce me.
I am 56 years old and like photography. Last year i started to pay more attention on close-up & macro so i got the MP-E 65mm from canon to use with my Canon 5D.
Starting to use this years purchased StackShot rail i got hooked to macro.

Realizing that there is still a whole lot to learn i turned here. I just am having a lot of fun learning. So that's it.

Here a old piece of technique:

This place is good. You can also check out POTN. The hardware section is all about Canon, but that is not relevant in the photography discussion or image sections.

The image is of (an incomplete) clothes peg.

One dictionary definition is
pun: A joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word or the fact that there are words that sound alike but have different meanings.
So, Harold's joke was based on the sound of "peg" in JPEG and in clothes peg.

I missed that one because to me what your picture shows is half of a clothes pin. In my dialect of English, a clothes peg is a short stick on which clothes hang without being clamped.

I thought perhaps he was making some play on your question about "self help group", perhaps something along the line of JPEGS meaning "Joint Photographic Experts Group Support". But that seemed like too much of a stretch, so I thought I would just ask.

I like your image Rayke. It looks good and stands out as more original amongst all the bugs that we often post on these forums.
