microscopy evaluation + best way to atach dslr to it

Post by roberto AB »

Hi everybody! grettings from a new member, i hope u can help me with my new endevour. i have a somewhat old (but good?) microscope and would like to 1- atach my nikon dslr to it, or just the 2-objetive directly to my camera.

In n.1 i think that i will atach a home made extention in a camera cap cuted in the eyething tube with the removed eyelens. this will only work with a finite lens, otherwise i need any camera lens betwen the microscope tube and my camera. correct me if im wrong.

In n.2 situation i think the same aplyies as above.

So in either case i need to know if my objtive is finite or infinite, which i dont. is there a way to know? and would the n.2 case give me better IQ? thanks

” I suppose you are an entomologist ? “
” Not quite so ambitious as that, sir. I should like to put my eyes on the individual entitled to that name.
No man can be truly called an entomologist,
sir; the subject is too vast for any single human intelligence to grasp.”

Mounting a camera to a microscope

Since you have a binocular microscope, you might consider using a digiscoping adapter as described in this article:
