Hi there good people,
How can I attach a flash to my compound microscope ?
I´ve tried to put a small flash where the light source normaly is, but no light is coming through. Yes, the flash has been triggered.

Harald,
I can't seen to locate that model on the Amscope site, but I did see a picture of one from an eBay auction. It appears that the bulb is built into the base.
It is much easier to adapt flash when the light is external at the rear of the scope, but there are a few simple things you can try that work well.
A piece of glass positioned at a 45 degree angle above the base light source can be used to reflect flash light up into the bottom of the condenser, while maintaining the continuous light as well. This is import6ant if you are following critters around and need to move the slide and focus quickly. Have a look at these links to get some ideas:

Hi there arturo,
Thanks for the article. Great stuff.
Now I know why I have to use flash. It gives much more details, much more. I´ve located a dealer in plastic tubes who has what I need. Also I know where to get the glass I need. I will try to make an set up with 45º reflection. Then I can use both light and flash.

Hi
yes i think you can use flash with your axiophot but i' m not sure that it is a nice idea to replace the fluorescence lamp; flash on microscope needs a.pilot lamp or little led just rear flash bulb in order to see what you want "freeze"....for this purpose better way is an empty lamphouse to fit flash bulb and lamp..
if i remember good for your microscope there is a unit for double illuminator, this way you can lat in place two different illuminator.
hope this help

That's what I meant: the Idea was to focus using the regular lamp and put the flash like you did at the second location to then take a picture after switchinh lght path.
