A Tale of Two 28mm
To use a classic quote from 'Antz' - "I almost know exactly what I'm doing!"
Thats quite a difference there! I wasn't expecting to be able to see any difference but even viewing on my phone I can tell them apart!
Canon 5D and 30D | Canon IXUS 265HS | Cosina 100mm f3.5 macro | EF 75-300 f4.5-5.6 USM III | EF 50 f1.8 II | Slik 88 tripod | Apex Practicioner monocular microscope
The actual test was interesting too:-

I'm not sure what the situation is at www.16-9.net. The lights appear to be on; but no-one is home. It has been some time between updates. I might go and knock on the door.
I found the site when exploring EOS to Nikon adapters.
Quote from 'A tale of Two 28mm'
* a Meopta Anaret lens just arrived from the US....opening the package....oh no! it is in 'mint' condition and in its original bubble container!...I was hoping it would fall from "the packing chips naked" showing obvious signs of regular usage (but no drop dings).
Another two articles I found interesting are listed below. The first one was published in early 2008, so we can read with some hindsight - interesting.

Its scruffier sibling, however, fell from the packing chips naked into my world, bespeaking a somewhat more colourful history
