What a day!
I plugged in my copy stand lights this morning and they blew the circuit breaker. Troubleshooting showed that the insulation had broken down and was sticky. My lights are a set of antique Durst Italian lights. I went to Home Depot and bought some extension cords and broke down the whole setup and rewired it with modern extension cord wire, so now I am back in business.
