hi
this is my first stack with my newport. 20 pictures on a almost dead spider.
mpe X5. Many problems with combine z5 so i did it on photoshop...by hand...

It's a very nice result.

For this subject I am surprised to hear that you had so much trouble with automatic stacking. It looks like a pretty simple case. What problems did you have?

That looks like what happens with a depth map method when there are one or more unusually dark frames in the stack due to exposure variation.

For future stacks I strongly recommend to check for exposure variation and track down and fix whatever is causing that.

Even with the variation, this stack could probably be handled pretty well with a "pyramid" method.

CombineZ5 is quite dated and does not provide one of those. If you want to stay with freeware, then CombineZP would be a better choice. With that, you would need to Align and Balance Used Frames in a separate step, and then its Pyramoid Maximum Contrast method would be the first stacking method I would try.

Or if you plan to do very much stacking, you might be happier with one of the specialist packages like Zerene Stacker or Helicon Focus. Both of those have free trials.

in fact i used combine ZP sorry.
i think i ll try others program.

The difference of light is due to flash power , the battery were low... I didn't thought of this . thanks
