Some new stones in my drawer

Post by soldevilla »

A few days ago I received some samples of minerals. I still do flash lighting tests and testing objectives. These photos were taken with my korean microscope objectives, and my JML. I am preparing a small exhibit and now need to do a lot of pictures... :D

A very curious inclusion in quartz. The birefringence of quartz produces a double image.

Very nice, I especially like the contract and composition of #2

Always fascinating. How big are those "balls"?

The "big" ball is about 0,8mm.

Nice photos.
From the visual impact I like the diopside image very much. Mineralogically, my favorite is the clinozoisite/pumpellyite combo.

Thanks for commenting. This deposit of clinozoisite often offers very aesthetic specimens.
