One of the reasons I like crocuses is that hoverflies like eating the pollen. Episyrphus balteatus munching away.

As long as you are reasonably careful , hoverflies when feeding like this are fairly easy to approach. I'd also preprepared a bit by putting a house brick near the crocuses so I could rest my hand on it with the camera lens on that.
