An unlucky sweat bee

Post by LordV »

Immature male web spider Steatoda nobilis with a sweat bee prey.
As I have noticed before, web spiders tend to immobilise potentially dangerous prey by giving them a light silk wrap first using their rear legs to revolve the prey. They then go in for a killing bite.
