Kyowa microscopes?

Post by Ecooper »

Is anyone familiar with Kyowa microscopes? I have been offered a Kyowa Medilux-11 trinocular microscope with phase contrast. It has 5 lenses: 10/.25; 20/.45; 40/.65; 100/1.25; HI 100/1.25.

I have asked for more information about the lenses.

I know nothing about these microscopes. Should I seriously consider this, or would the instrument not be worth it?

Many thanks...

Kyowa scopes are generally good quality. Often sold with other peoples labels on them. Probably a good buy.

They are still in business , making a modest group of instruments of average-good quality. I have an older scope of theirs and the optics look like they are made by Carton Optical, who makes an awful lot of the lenses for everyone from Tasco to Swift. So, the optics are probably average/good lab quality.
