Those are interesting. If you have any Asiatic Dayflowers growing in the shade somewhere around your home, the leaves of them are a good source for this kind of thing. Snip a small section off with a pair of scissors, make a wet mount and have a look. The leaves are in the neighborhood of being one cell thick. Nothing like a fresh specimen.

These are commercial slides. One technique I have used is to make a very thin square incision on the underside of a leaf with an Exacto knife and peel away the epidermis. Then mount his strip in water under a cover slip.
