Re: stitched mosquito
Unfortunately not, but in the meantime I don't find it so dramatic, Hi, To me there is a heavy cold/blue tint on them but I am not an expert in color management myself. I would love to learn how to properly edit in photoshop, but my self taught workflow is quite chaotic. You can try printing your i...

Re: stitched mosquito
Nice images, I would love to find one of those mitu 50x.
One thing though, I think the WB on those images is quite off. Do you have a calibrated monitor?

Re: Canon MP 35mm and/or Minolta 5400
Well, it depends if you plan to use them on FF or APS-C. According to this test the Canon should perform best between 2.5 and 3.5 or so, at least on APS-C. I had a Olympus 38/2.8 bellows lens and was very good on FF at 3 to 5X, maybe that canon 25/2.8 is even better Is always better to look for some...

I would try one if had it..Scarodactyl wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 11:55 amI wonder if a surgical microscope objective would work, though that would likely run a bit depending on brand and be pretty wide if not long.

Re: Any good 300mm tube lens recomendations?
You didn't mention whether you want to cover APS or FF. Better if it does cover both formats, but I do not think would not use a 300mm tube lens with APS-C cameras Have you tried with different TC:s? I have tried what I own, a crappy 10$ M42 2X TC and a similar 1.5X vivitar TC nikon mount. I do not...

Any good 300mm tube lens recomendations?
Hello, I would like to add a 300mm tube lens to my set up, to push some objectives up like the Mitus? Now I use the raynox DCR-250 and DCR-150 (125mm and 210mm) and sometime I use the DCR-150 plus a teleconverter with OK results, like this Papilio blumei wing at 45X with mitu 20, DCR-150 and M42 2X ...

Re: Evania appendigaster ocelli at 21X
I would love to see how you work that "retouching from single frames", because those eyes have been great. Glad you like it!! Each raw of omatidea need around 3 to 6 frames to be in focus. I just select individual frames or those 3 image slabs and take what I want. I may have used something like 50...

The above URL does not work for me. It produces an error message as follows: Could there be some permissions issue? --Rik I do not think so..it works for me even not being logged into my account. It is a public post, anyone can see it. Try this link instead maybe https://www.flickr.com/photos/seta6...

Re: Evania appendigaster ocelli at 21X
Wonderful! Please tell us how you edit your photos, step by step. This technique was discussed in the past by Rik and myself . My lighting technique and postprocessing are quite average, really; is the retouching within Zerene what is important for this kind of work. Some (most) times light reflect...

A 270 stack of Evania appendigaster ocelli at 21X with mitutoyo plan apo 20/0.42, raynox DCR-150 and sony A7. Light comes from two JY610II flash lights. Vespa crabro 2.4X and ocelli at 21X
A Vespa cabro (european hornet) at 2.4 with Canon MP-E and Sony A7; 87 shots at f4 plus one at f8. Dual LED lights Because of its size this species is sometime confused with the invasive and much more aggressive Vespa velutina, which competes against it for territory https://live.staticflickr.com/65...
