Re: Pézize écarlate
Interesting fungi! The name seemed familiar, from long, long ago, and so a quick look confirmed that the "Pezizacea" are a group of fungi that tend to form cup-shaped fruiting bodies.

Re: Stink Bug.
Very good. These come into our house in the winter over here. Being starved for buggy companionship during these cold months, I don't mind them.

Re: ...two little babies on the way...
Very nice stuff! I was going to ask the same question about getting the eyes "right" after inverting the brightness channel. Again a very nice technique that I should like to try one day.

Re: Sourdough seen under a microscope (VIDEO)
Very interesting. The little round thingies swimming past the yeast cells are likely bacteria. Out of curiosity I learned that this is essential, as bacteria are critical for the flavor of sourdough. See here for example: https://asm.org/Articles/2020/June/The- ... Microbiome

I think it could be. But your application is different so its hard to know how they compare.

Re: Macro with inverted M12 and phone lenses anyone?
I am sorry I did not see this earlier. I had wondered about using the clamp-on cell phone lenses in rigs like this, or go-pro lenses. The magnification here is beyond where I normally go, but it still looks interesting! I don't know if it would be your thing, but this reminds me of the rig made by J...

Re: Assassins in training
Wheel bugs (really big assassin bugs) are fearsome in that way. They don't seem to be around in my area, but I remember encountering them elsewhere. I would never pick one up. Nosir.

Re: Various Seed Pods
Arranging for an out of focused background would be best. A black one seems appropriate. A white background probably would not show the filaments well.
As for other backgrounds, I like to use paint swatches, which are free from hardware stores. All varieties of colors are possible then.

Those are superb! Amazing!! I recognize the first one as one of the odder kinds of Cerambycids (long horn beetles).

Re: Photo sharing services in 2021
Here is a summary of photo sharing services, with notes about cost (if any), etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_image-sharing_websites. I've been on Flickr, and recently transitioned to Flickr Pro. No ads then. I know you can set whether the pictures are public, or are restricted. But that i...
