Yes, but the final output image may be very different depending on the lighting and processing, that is what I meant.

Is a excellent first result, maybe a darker background and a more neutral slices can improve the contrast and the visibility of purple-green fringes normally is minor in Pmax.

I'm interesed in the "local contrast" enhacement of the image, is a post process after the stack is ready or is a part of the processing of individual slices?
I'm trying different processing configurations in Cameraraw and is always difficult to get a good balance.

I normally use 0.01mm steps with the same camera and optics and work fine with no bands. Is the graduation of a standard micrometric stage and greatly convenient! (use the nonius scale is not easy for me) :)

As lauriek say, probably a pollen grain, may be Pinus sp. lots of that white spots floating around and "contaminating" macro shots here!
