Hi Craig, I agree that the term continuous is a bit confusing, I wouldn't choose that word but the Canon manual uses it. You are correct; I don't mean the "multi mode": my flash is set to E-TTL When using 'M' Manual or 'E-TTL' modes, the focus plane adjustment time between shots is sufficient rest f...

Flash use for stacking.
After acquiring my first dSLR, I'm re-building my photomicrography setup. Previously I was using LED lights and an a very old digital fixed-lens camera. In my new dSLR setup instead of LEDs I'm using a single Canon 430EX II speedlite with diffusers to illuminate he subject. To add "fill" light I add...

the wasp & the lacewing
The first one is a closeup(!) shot of a relatively big (20mm total length) wasp's compound eye and ocelli. Used a 10x cheap microscope objective + Canon 7D. The second image is (I guess) a lacewing which I found dead in front of my window in the dust. I used the 4x objective from the same cheap set....

Hi Rik, Thanks for the warm welcome and another thanks for the Zerene Stacker. Being a graphics programmer myself in profession I immediately realized that your stacker is designed with a user and task oriented mindset unlike the others that I tried which were developed more like underlying techniqu...

My first photomicrography
Hi all, I've been following this forum for a while, learned a lot from the posts. After getting a microscope as a birthday present I attempted to build a basic/cheap photomicroscopy setup. My initial plan was to use my Canon G10 but finding a cheap optical adaptation turned out to be a challange. I ...
