Rogelio, excellent again!
(perhaps if you may lower a bit the highlights brighness the result would be even better)

Like Charles, I think that it may be related to the improved desing for UV transmission for epifluorescence.René wrote: ...DPlanApo UV 20x/0.8 (oil immersion)...
Digital sensors are quite sensible to UV and it is usually rendered as blue
If you have a good UV cut filter you can test it in a color picture.

Re: Olympus Microscope Base Surgery Advice Wanted
Well, I finally picked up my ebay goodies, which include an Olympus BH base. I was hoping to get some advice for converting this to a stage. I know there is some sentiment in favor of a 90 degree mount, but I really want the cleaner approach. I am just about to open up the base to see about unscrew...

Re: Can anybody recommend me a new lens
the vivitar fills the gap, mounted the normal way around on bellows with a raynox dcr 250, and I use it between 5:1 and 7:1. ... Of course I am expecting to be paying above $150 this time :) An easy and cheap recommendation would be a reversing ring for the vivitar. It would improve its quality. To...

Pau - I have used a non-programmable chipped adapter and not noticed a difference in behaviour - I'll look. I think it's the same even with a Canon EF lens. If I turn to another mode or pop the flash up, I get a bright view. Well, exposure simulation (the only mode in 600D an the default setting in...

Live View is DIM because you can't set <some mode> (??) on the 600D which you CAN on the (eg) 50D. You can get it bright by changing the Exposure Mode knob away from what you want, but... <some mode> (??) This mode is Silent Live view disabling Exposure simulation. Do you use a chipped adapter?. As...

Not sure if it is true DIC, perhaps some kind of oblique "VOILA" effect:curt0909 wrote: Probably pseudo-dic at this time.

I agree with Litonotus. Altough is easier to buy new equipment, with your budget you can access to very high quality microscopes in the used market, even top of the line research ones from the 70s or 80s of the four big makers (Olympus, Leitz, Zeiss and Nikon). It's of course more risky and uncertai...

I always liked the look of those universal stages. Craig, do you own it?. it seems a copy of the Leitz or Zeiss ones. It is Chinese and means for military use lLiterally "millitary industrial"). Because this stages are for study of mineral optical properties, I can't imagine its military use ...

I'm a big fan of Canon EOS live view because its vibration free EFSC with continous light. But for flash work I can't see any advantage over Nikon, in special D7000 and D5100 that seem to have improved LV function and sensors over older models. If you go for the Canon, buy the chipped adapter as Rik...
