Thanks again for the welcome Tim and Dave :) much appreciated.Dave- yes I do quite a few waterdrop/dewdrop pictures- I just find the colour effects fascinating but you'd be suprised how difficult it is to find the good dewdrop formations in a lawn full of them :)

AFAIK a 12mm ext tube will give you the required clearance. Thios would give you a total mag with the TC of about 1.64:1 and 13.7mm FOV width for a 1.6 crop camera. Unless you really need to maintain working distance I'd recommend you get a set of kenko ext tubes which will give you 2:1 without any ...

Brian, Yep, the animal subjects in these deep stacks are almost always dead. There are a few exceptions, like Charlie's " horsefly " in the old forum, and my recent " face of a hobo " and " orb weaving spider " . The problem is, it takes several minutes just to shoot the 30-100 frames required for ...

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :) From a quick look around it seems everyone is into focus stacking as much as I am although I tend to do it handheld on live bugs just to make it difficult  Walter - doing dewdrop refractions is one of my "things". I often suffer from damp knees. Brian V.

Amazingly detailed and well lit shots Charles.

Hi from a newbie here

Just to say hello, just been pointed here by another member (Joan Young). Keen macrophotographer that shoots just about anything in my garden. I use focus stacking a lot either by hand or using combinezm. I also do 3-D cross-eye macro stereograms and sometimes do panorama macro shots. I hope clickab...
