AFAIK a 12mm ext tube will give you the required clearance. Thios would give you a total mag with the TC of about 1.64:1 and 13.7mm FOV width for a 1.6 crop camera. Unless you really need to maintain working distance I'd recommend you get a set of kenko ext tubes which will give you 2:1 without any ...

Brian, Yep, the animal subjects in these deep stacks are almost always dead. There are a few exceptions, like Charlie's " horsefly " in the old forum, and my recent " face of a hobo " and " orb weaving spider " . Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :) From a quick look around it seems everyone is into focus stacking as much as I am although I tend to do it handheld on live bugs just to make it difficult :wink: Walter - doing dewdrop refractions is one of my "things". Just to say hello, just been pointed here by another member (Joan Young). Keen macrophotographer that shoots just about anything in my garden. I use focus stacking a lot either by hand or using combinezm. I also do 3-D cross-eye macro stereograms and sometimes do panorama macro shots. I hope clickab...
