Usually comparing the in-camera correction with the Capture NX2 one, the last is better, very accurate and automatic, it works with any TIF or JPG file in the last version, not only with Nikon NEF ones.

Rik, very good test and with a dose of suspense! :) Totally agree with your results. The Micro-Nikkor AF 105/2.8 D behaves in the same way with the CFI 10X. The rms mount CF Plan 5X/0.13 is not good with any tube lenses I've tried. Is usable only in the center of the image and up to about 20mm of co...

Pau, great shots and interesting discussion about down-sampled images resolution. Can some "exotic" algorithm or down-sample technique work better or is a physical limit?

Hi, I have a similar experience with a Tominon 17/4 objective, originally designed for large format high magnification photography, work fine with a tube lens behind, Rik considerations make perfect sense to me and other enlarger lenses can work fine too as "stopped-down" combos.

Good volume representation in that black mineral.
The stereo pair have some troubles, excessive shift may be?

I love jumping spiders too, sometimes I tried to refrigerate someone inside a 30x20 cm white poliexpan "container" with a blue-gel pharmaceutical cold bag inside and some natural substrate like a bark piece. Temperature is less than 10 ºC and little bugs slow his movements (and stop to jump!) for s...
