Re: [Hands On] Venus Optics (a.k.a Laowa) Aurogon Macro Lens
Just felt like to post this one :D 50x 0.3NA 71 images with step size of 1.25um. ISO 200, exposure time 1/4s, JPG compression shown here is at 69% to meet size requirement of this forum Thanks for your tests. I need to decide between buying a 10x M Plan Apo Mitotoyo and later a 20x (I do not want 5...

Re: Electronic Shutter and Flash
By the way, I just found out the actual shutter lag of the GFX 50S / R : 0.270s I think now the whole thing starts to make sense. It's a really long delay which of course after all those years I hadn't paid any attention to... 270 ms + 250ms = 520ms. Ta-dah. Thank you very much for your work Chris!...

Re: Electronic Shutter and Flash
May I ask for further/more detailed guidance on how you achieved your goal? What kind of device did you use? Was it the MJKZZ Delay Controller?
I too use a Fujiflim GFX (50R) and using ES would be very beneficial, but soldering a PCB is not in my time contigent.
Thanks!

Re: [Hands On] Venus Optics (a.k.a Laowa) Aurogon Macro Lens
Thank you very much for doing the testing and posting the results. Also thank you for showing that much of your equipment! Using a THK rail with a controller developed by you, I already gained a lot of your efforts. To me the quality of the 50x looks better than I expected having seen some of the ot...

Re: Fujifilm GFX 50R with Schneider Makro Symmar 120/5.9 0059 stacked with various lenses
The vignetting with these lens combinations suggests to me that the MS120 may not be the best tube lens for this system. Have you tried any longer focal length tube lenses? Another option to consider is a medium-format tube lens. I usually use the Mamiya 200mm Apo (645) which is exquisite on FF. Th...

Re: Fujifilm GFX 50R with Schneider Makro Symmar 120/5.9 0059 stacked with various lenses
Wide open it is bad. Try stopping it down ... a lot. The corners get better, but overall resolution drops. See if you can find a reasonable compromise. And if you are happy with M-Componon 28 with Makro-Symmar 120, you should try Componon 35mm on the M-S. It is even better. Thanks for your reply JK...

Re: Fujifilm GFX 50R with Schneider Makro Symmar 120/5.9 0059 stacked with various lenses
Do you mean magnifications of 4.2x, 3x and 2x? Those are normally written as 4.2:1, 3:1 and 2:1. Since you compare it to the Mitutoyo 5x that would make sense. Thank you for your feedback. I have revised the posts with magnificatio ratios according to convention. The vignetting with these lens comb...

Fujifilm GFX 50R with Schneider Makro Symmar 120/5.9 0059 stacked with various lenses
Hi everybody, I bought into the GFX series and like many, I really like the Makro Symmar 80 and 120 for images around 0.8-1.2: 1. The M-Componon 28/4 was not that impressive for 3:1 and higher, so I tried a stacking setup, as Robert suggests on his site (Thanks for this ressource!). Setup: Fujifilm ...

Re: Flat bayonet mount for adapting M42 tubes to Fujifilm X Mount cameras
Since getting packages from Moscow is rather difficult at the moment, I ordered something from China.

Jon, welcome aboard! :D It is holiday today in the U.S., so I will be more brief than usual. Regarding Helicon Focus versus Zerene Stacker, some of the issues that you ask about were recently addressed at https://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=277319#p277319 . Not mentioned there is...

LOMO 8/0.2 - two poppy seeds
Hi everybody, I have been wanting to get into macro- und microphotography ever since I took histology, physiology, histopathology and microbiology in university. This summer I bought a Fuji XF 80mm 2.8 OIS to do some in camera stacking with the X-H1 I own. And altough I did not have much sucess with...
