What might work well is one of Chris Hejnar's plates and 90 deg blocks: http://stores.ebay.com/Hejnar-Photo/_i.html?rt=nc&_sid=294546836&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1513&_pgn=1 http://www.hejnarphoto.com/ebay/pictures/G102A/0005_G102A.jpg The 90 deg block can be turned around and may fit the end plate, wi...

There's no way that you'll reverse mount that lens. :D

I don't know what scope there will be in macro. Harold The only way that you could do macro with it is if the lens will take a magnifying attachment, that way you can focus fairly close to subjects. One very memorable photo I that saw many years ago was that of a dragonfly standing on a rock, with ...

Whatever the failings of Olympus DSLRs, sensor cleaning is never an issue; it's rarely, if ever required. I thought the same of mine for a long time. Presumably it's down to what happens to the camera. Sticky particulates would always be a problem? Other than the benefits of the exceptional dust fi...

I need glasses as well, but I fnd that they are incompatible, for me, when trying to focus and compose. Everyone's different, but if nothing else, maybe giving it a try (ie no glasses) may change your view (pun intended). Ray, I just tried it and the result is worse, equally so with either e...

The EVF takes its image directly of the sensor, so you should be seeing exactly what the sensor sees ie a live view. As I read the literature, the VF-2 only has 1.4 megapixels vs 12.3 megapixels for the sensor. So it seems like the VF-2 can either display the full frame at 1/3 resolution, or full r...

The VF-2, although clearly much better than the built-in screen, is well short of the performance of an optical viewfinder. Harold Harold I think that you might be having other issues. The EVF takes its image directly of the sensor, so you should be seeing exactly what the sensor sees ie a live vie...

I use a Nexto Extreme (http://www.nextodi.com/product/eXtreme_en.html) portable storage device it is/was the fastest around when I got a few years ago and has some pretty good features. It's been very reliable and much better than the X-Drive that I used previously, and a great feature is that I can...

I agree, the StackShot is the best value for money platform that you can get. One thing to note, as has been pointed out, anything that you want to do properly will cost in the long run and if you eventually end up getting a StackShot, you may have wasted a fair amount of money along the way. But wh...

You can always look for a microscope focusing block, often found on eBay for reasonably low cost and modify to suit, or consider something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Focusing-macro-rail-slider-lock-down-RRS-Kirk-/230600746666?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b0e026aa. Harold

May I suggest that you set the camera to shoot both RAW and JPG (use P mode first off - I call it P for Professional) and compare the results. If the results are wildly different ie the JPGs look much better, then you'll have to hit the books regrding RAW processing.
