Skittish little buggers, ain't they? At first I despaired of getting a closeup, but I observed where they were hanging around before I spooked them, then plopped down and waited. They seem to be more alert to threats from above than from ground level, so when a few returned I was able to belly-crawl...

This is an "environmental portrait" of the gecko. With the blurred background it's quite a nice shot but doesn't move me to exclaim "masterpiece".
