Nikon D7000, 50mm 1.8 lens, camranger only at least 5 seconds between each shot, regardless of shutter speed. With all sharing and auto view off. If anyone else is using the camranger for stacking, without stackshot would love to hear if they can decrease the time between shots. Thanks!

Maybe I should have bought stack shot, I will have a look at the settings on the camranger and IPAD 1 and see what makes a difference wil get back to you.

Tethered to lightroom for indoor trials but my aim is to work outside where a computer would be less practical. Cam ranger has other benefits for out door use. Thanks

Sounds great. However, I corresponded with camranger and the Ipad 1 and Iphone 4 cannot view raw images larger than 12mp. It can view smaller jpgs. I suppose I could shoot raw plus jog and judge quality based on the jpgs/ Just a small detail but it impacts me if I go this route. I do not have stacks...

I will get the 40.5. The Rodagon and Componar came in a package. So i won"t worry about that lens, though I will try it out. I should look around for a Nikon el-n 50mm which would be better.

I think this confirms my thinking that the next step is the 200mm lens and not some combo of reversed lens. For working in nature I was thinking close to 5:1 at best - to mimic the Canon MPE -e 65mm lens. But this may be unrealistic, if I am to maintain 10 inches of working distance.
