Re: replacing Nikon FX-35A camera
The opening in the C-mount adapter needs to be big enough to cover the entire M4/3 sensor; that is often the case but I can't tell if it's the case here. There are even cheap replacement C-mounts available (not so risky because the 1x contains no optics, just an empty tube). https://www.cnscope.com...

Re: replacing Nikon FX-35A camera
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It looks to me like all you need to do is to remove the entire camera part and Nikon V-T tube. https://www.lmscope.com/en/Nikon_eclipse_e400_e600_digital_Adapter_en.html Then mount a Nikon YT-TV adapter, a Nikon 1x C-mount TV adapter A and attach a C-mount to M4/3 a...

Re: replacing Nikon FX-35A camera
I assume that any Nikon full-frame body could be used to replace the Nikon FX-35A. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If I am correct, is there any particular body I should look for (or avoid). Hi, Nikon DSLRs were unsuitable until recently because the shutters induced vibrations. Some of the newest b...

Re: replacing Nikon FX-35A camera
Thank you. Will I need to replace the existing body with a full-frame digital body?

replacing Nikon FX-35A camera
I finally purchased a good microscope for photomicroscopy. I bought a Nikon Eclipse 400 in excellent shape. It came equiped with a Nikon FX-35A camera and mount. See pics. I would like to replace the camera with a digital body. I know little about Nikon cameras. I use an Olympus EM5 m4/3 camera for ...

I guess maybe the best thing I can do is buy a Mitutoyo and try it on a few different lenses... If you want to get a quick read before buying the Mitutoyo, just make a 12 mm hole in a piece of black paper, hold it in front of your long lenses while photographing a distant scene, and see if you get ...

I was shooting for between 2x and 5x, so the Mitutoyo 10x and zuiko 75mm sound like a good combo. I don't own a 75mm, but I have a number of vintage OM lenses and the adaptors to mount them on the m4/3 body. How well would a vintage 100mm or 75-150mm zoom work? Or maybe a vintage 90mm macro? Just wo...

Mitutoyo on Olympus micro 4/3 body?
I'm thinking it might be time for me to buy a Mitutoyo 5x or 10x lens. Can anyone recommend a good tube lens for using a Mitutoyo with a Olympus micro 4/3 body? I seem to remember reading somewhere on here that a Zuiko 75mm produced good results. But my memory could be mistaken.
Thanks.

Yes is is, then, a remarkable image - but my first thought, prompted by the white paper, was that they were obviously dead and it looked very "staged"! Sorry, you cannot win! LOL! Definitely not staged. These spiders are usually a pain to photograph because they won't stay still! But this tim...

woodlouse spider feeding on sow bug (stacked)
I haven't posted a photo for ages! This is a photo I took yesterday of a female woodlouse spider ( Dysdera crocata ) feeding on a sow bug. When it bit the sow bug you could hear an audible crunch! The spider was shot on white paper with the flash diffused through a second sheet of paper to create a ...
